Tanzania Tourism - Wildlife, Key Tourist Attractions, Reviews & Tanzania Photos

The United Republic of Tanzania is a central East African nation with the eastern borders opening onto the Indian Ocean. The economy of the country is mostly based on agriculture accounting for over half of the GDP, although topography and climate restrict cultivation of crops to only 4 percent of the land area. Industry is mainly limited to Agro-based products and light consumer goods even when the country has vast resources of gold, diamonds, coal, iron-ore, uranium, nickel, chrome, tin, platinum, and many other minerals. With a considerable wildlife habitat, Tanzania is also home to over 130 amphibian and 275 reptile species, and has so far developed a bio-diversity action plan in order to address species conservation.
